Summary

The Footer widget area is a control specific for Wordpress only. Wordpress widgets can be placed into a specific widget area. Widget areas are typically positioned in webpage sidebars, however a theme can place widget areas anywhere on the page. For example, except for the usual sidebar locations, a widget area can be located in the footer of any page.

Usage

To add a Footer widget area, please navigate Insert >> Other >> Footer Widget Area.

The Footer widget area control can be placed to any location on page, however usually it is located inside the Footer control, in order to be displayed on all templates (Home, Page etc.).

There can be from one to four different Footer widget areas in a theme. You can specify whether a specific Footer widget area control will be responsible for the First, Second, Third or Fourth Area in Wordpress in Property Window >> Footer widget area >> Shape >> Options >> Footer area.

In general, the number of Footer widget areas in a theme is unlimited, as there can be several instances of a certain widget area (for example, several Third Areas) in a single theme, that will output the same widgets.
