I updated my Wordpress site core files to new Wordpress and had 2 plugin updates. When I went to add new info and pics to my home page, the editor was missing from the Wordpress admin sidebar. The theme is there and I even reuploaded the theme, but no themler editor in site. AFTER GOING TO THE THEMLER THEME AND CLICKING "EDIT IN THEMLER" I get "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page."

If any one else has this problem, check if your security plugin is blocking Themler after an update (to Wordpress or your security plugin) by disabling it. If it is disabled and Themler reappears to the admin sidebar, your security plugin is blocking it. In my case my security plugin is iThemes Security. I am still working it out....but at least I now know the root of the problem.

Hi,

Thank you for the information.
It's quite possible that such tools may block loading of Themler editor, or, for example, executing php scripts inside themes. Unfortunately we cannot control in from inside theme.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi Markesaetta,

iThemes has a built-in option for disabling the theme editing from wordpress. You can find it on:
iThemes > Wordpress Tweaks > File Editor - disable File Editor (uncheck it)

Disables the file editor for plugins and themes requiring users to have access to the file system to modify files. Once activated you will need to manually edit theme and other files using a tool other than WordPress

Another incompatibility with iThemes Security is that somehow doesn't allow the Themler to load some parts of the CSS styling - but only in WP Dashboard > Themler Editor. (only in backend editor)
To frontend, it displays correctly.

Thank you 'Pixel Web Serv' for posting this answer re iThemes Security and WP Tweaks.

I loaded iThemes Security yesterday along with Back Up Buddy, and this morning when I logged in I had no Themler in my WP Dashboard. After a bit of "oh noooooooo!!!?!!" I found your post above and straight away unchecked the 'File Editor' in iThemes Security - thank you very much for this!

Did you manage to resolve the issue about CSS Styling at all?

Thanks again.
