All kinds of troubles with Themler. We are working with it for multiple years now, but I guess Themler does not do anything with a lot of issue's. Development is almost at 0%.. Frustrating, and time consuming.

  • Why is PHP 5 still used for local installation. I have news: its deprecated! ( We also dont use this for production, but thats no argument for Themler to use! )
  • Database same issue.

  • Why is outdated version of Joomla installed on a NEW install of Themler. I guess.....because of the first item.

  • Why are we having issues with pages not working at all, like error.php not found on server, ( also with new install of Themler )
  • Why is Themler so very very very slow in performance! What a shame!

How fast our systems are, Themler keeps beeing slooooowwwww!
We have multiple machines, like Intel Core I7 4.0 Ghz, 32GB RAM, GTX VGA, NVME SSD ( 2TB write / read )

Do something with it! We are paying customers and want software that works and performes!

I think need to close desktop app, I never used it, but most of problems there in community is regarding this app.

What is a reason to use this app? All of developers have (or, IMHO, must have) own local or virtual server for development, with all of setting that needed (as a PHP 7.x etc.).

We create themes in the desktop version of themler. That program shows issues, like template pages not working etc.
Also the performance sucks. Exporting, etc....time consuming.

And yes, the program also installs a local server. But its outdated. PHP7 performs much faster for instance.
Off course we have a development server, and separate production server ( both in DC ) but thats not my point.

If we develop on our local machines with the desktop app, we need perfomance as well, we dont want all those errors if we click for instance on "error page" template. We also dont want to export themplates after every change to a external dev machine. And although our primary concern is the ability to create the template without all kind of errors and performance issues all the time, these things should be updated if they are used.

Why you don't want to use other WAMP local server (instead of Themler Desktop App) with all of you need? :)
Sounds strange but seems that Themler work better and faster on 3rd party server software. Too many issues here with this Desktop app :)

I start my themes on the Desktop and quickly deploy to site to finish. I also have a few HTML5 sites so desktop version is somewhat useful. I seem to build most of the Joomla sites on the server soon after I start the theme.

I may try your idea of a WAMP install and manage my own Joomla/server config. Thanks for that idea Vitaliy WD. Not that I had not heard of it but never really thought it was worth mucking with.

I think it is WordPress only for automatic installs but as far as I know you can manually install other CMS systems on Local by FlyWheel. I've been using it for over a year now and compared to others it is fab.

My second choice would be AMPPS which comes with Softaculous and has auto installs for just about every CMS there is out there.

I've also used the free version of Desktop Server from ServerPress but that again is WordPress only auto installs although as it installs Xampp you maybe could manually install others I think. Also the free version only allows for 3 sites.
