shortcodes issue on php version over 7.0

Hi, I noticed the issue using shortcodes one_half, one_third etc. When the php version is set to 7.0 shortcodes work correct but on versions 7.1 and 7.2 the shortcodes do not arrange the columns and the column's contents are one under the other.

sample (php 7.0): http://marcintafelski.pl/ and http://marcintafelski.pl/kontakt
sample (php 7.2): http://kapita.pl/ and http://kapita.pl/kontakt

Hi,

These shortcodes are quite an old solution. Themler can now edit the content of the existing CMS pages. Therefore you just need to add the Columns control into the green area of the page content to receive the proper shortcode in the admin panel. Also, the shortcodes are now a little different. Please create the content directly in Themler if you need Themler shortcodes.

Thank you,
Olivia

I understand but it is very unfair. I can edit new webpages this way but I used shortcodes on dozens of pages and now I would have to rework everything to bring up the php version.

OMG this is not cool. What is the solution to this? Editing in Themler is not always the easiest option. If I just need 2 columns in a standard Joomla article going through the whole editing process in Themler is way too much work.

The other issue is as soon as you edit anything with Joomla's editor that's been edited in Themler you got a huge mess. Unless I need to create a page with Themler this is going to be a giant setback now. Many things I create need 2 columns and I need the editing power of JCE with Joomla not Themlers clunky editing. It takes 10x 15x times a long to make things with Themler.

I think this is going to be a problem we need a solution to. A plugin for Joomla that can insert columns for articles/modules?

And as souacz stated all the site's I have this on are now garbage and need to be redone? Who's paying for this?

So let me ask you this then. You are saying the template will not support Boostrap columns now unless they are entered in with Themler in it's editor?

This is how you can deduce from Olivia's answer. This is completely pointless. In Themler editor, I can not edit modules, for example. And sometimes I plug them into the article using the {loadpoition} function and so far the modules accepted shortcodes like [one_half]. At the moment, after upgrading the php version above 7.0, the columns go down under one another. I used simplified codes like [one_half], [one_third] on dozens of pages and what should I do now?

I cannot agree with you more. They won't offer a module editor which is absurd because custom HTML modules are one of the strengths of Joomla and now I am left with this and all these sites that now do not work. I did not even realize all the sites I used this on no longer show in columns.

What I could deal with is if the standard Bootstrap column option would work so it's based on the Bootstrap alone. Then using JCE you could create a template for columns to insert in any WYSIWYG editor that is supported.

I am not sure how to determine this though. Do you use JCE?

Yes, I use JCE. The problem is not using bootstrap shortcodes but simplified (specify for Themler) ones. I just counted, I would make changes on 72 websites. In some of them I used simplified shortcodes on many subpages. For example, I have a page where I used these codes over 200 times.

I get your issue completely. I am trying to find a solution that can be used going forward. I would not hold out hope of any solutions for the columns we have used.

I don't understand how PHP affects this though. Aren't the columns JS and CSS not PHP? This is what confuses me the most. Not much of a detailed explanation from Olivia on that part.

If a new method is figured out you will be doing a lot of database search and replaces.

Yes, the bulk operations in database could solve the problem. But who will pay for it? In my opinion Themler developers should update editor to make simply shortcodes working properly again. Then I could just update template and the problem disappears.

This would be nice but updates are far and few between for this unless we get enough people and it's not too hard for them.

I suggest a private ticket and keep us posted on this thread.

And where is this in the changelog? Are all the people who use this supposed to figure this out when an angry customer contacts us? I assume enough people have used these to make it yet another bad decision to secretly remove this.

That's what led me here, the missing link. Really Themler? You just thought we would not notice all our sites are not working anymore? Come on, this is a serious thing and professional websites are built with your product.

WTF is going on here? Come on support this is getting absurd now. What exactly is the issue with ignoring all our tickets and posts on the forum?

FYI, this is now causing errors in my Joomla error_log too. Hundreds of them. Assuming on each page load.

It's private. Essentially they have not given me much of an answer about a solution. I'm not sure if they knew they did this or what. I don't think support was aware of it anyway. They asked me if I knew when it started happening. That indicates they don't know.

I'm moving on but anyone with a large amount of site's using this is in trouble. I had maybe 4 or 5 with a couple pages each.

souacz,

If the issue happens to you too, please try to describe in details how we can reproduce it, when it started to happen and what shortcodes don't work.

Thank you,
Nettie

There's a compare in the first post. The problem is on php version abova 7.0 f.eg. 7.1, 7.2. I use shortcodes [one_half], [one_third] etc.
