Adding Unique Codes to the < head> Section of a Specific Page(s) - Joomla!

Hi there,

After some research into adding unique codes to the < head> section of a specific page on a Joomla! website, such as is needed for Google Experiments or to include Structure Data in the format Google Recommends, the template would seem the be the preferred location to make such addition to a specific page.

From my knowledge, currently, in Themler you can add custom codes to the < head> section of the theme, which is quite practical, although it adds it to the < head> section of all the template pages.

It would be really practical if there would be a way to add additional codes to the < head> section of a specific template which could then be assigned to a specific page (e.g. the ability to add codes to the < head> of the Home template which would be assigned to the Home page).

Then, also if a unique landing page needs to be created, or codes added to a specific existing page, a new template could be created which follows the general theme but the specific codes added as needed.

TLDR: I am hoping one day soon there will be a solution to add unique codes to the < head> section of specific pages.

Thanks for all your great work!

Hello Jen,

Thank you for your suggestion and for your kind words. Indeed, there is no such option at the moment for Joomla (unlike Themler for HTML) because of Joomla theme structure that doesn't have php of separate pages. We will add your suggestion to our wishlist. At the moment, please consider using some third-party plugins or components for Joomla that would allow this, or use different themes for different pages (though this shouldn't be possibly a convenient solution).

Sincerely,
Nettie

I would look at Regular Labs and the extensions he offers. There are some options like Sourcerer or ReReplacer to add head tags to pages.

https://www.regularlabs.com/

There are probably many more but this guy is highly integrated into Joomla so perhaps a good start. Expecting this from a template is asking a lot.

As for Structured Data use Tassos Marinos Google Structured Data component to add this to pages. https://www.tassos.gr/joomla-extensions/google-structured-data-markup

Both automated and fully customized ways to add anything to any page.
