I have the header of my homepage (Wordpress) with a logo, a wide image and a horizontal menu. I want to have the same header but without the image in the rest of pages, but I can't find how to do it. I.e. I want the image of the header only on the homepage.

Hi,

You can create the header with the image for the Home template that will be used on your home page and use the other header on the Page template. That will be applied to all the other pages if no other template is specified.

But if I remove the image of the header in the blog template, for example, it dissapears in the header of the homepage. I've solved it not showing the header in the blog template and inserting a row in the upper part with the logo and the horizontal menu.

Hello,
actually only one Header area could exist in the theme and it could be shared between different templates. But it is possible to emulate the shared Header Area using Row with Columns control and thus output different headers on different pages. The following movie should be helpful
http://answers.themler.com/articles/4712/how-to-create-different-headers-for-different-templates-video

To hide Header area on a certain template select Header on the left side menu and set Show on Template to OFF for selected templates.

Aileen

How do we use Themler, or what code do we use, in order to allow a client to change headers as they see fit? Under normal circumstances the client would install a WP Plugin called "Unique Headers", and then they would be able to change the header to any given post, and be able to do it on the post page as a feature option. The problem is, Themler won't allow this plugin to work. Is there something we should be doing to the theme, or some code we need to add, to allow this plugin to work so that the client can change headers? Please don't tell us that we need to install themler as part of the package and have the client change each header post! There must be another way. Please make a video to address this.

Hi,

Could you please provide a link to the site where that plug-in is installed. Activate it so the different header is selected for some page and let us know which one.

Sincerely,
Hella

Why do you need the site link? What does the site have to do with anything? I did activate the plug-in, that's how I know it's not working. What do you mean let you know which one?

Hi,

I assume that you're using this plug-in, right?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/unique-headers/

There is a note on the n the plug-in's page:

Requirements
You must use a theme which utilizes the built-in custom header functionality of WordPress. If your theme implement it's own header functionality, then this plugin will not work with it.

Themler theme utilizes own header functionality. Therefore this plug-in will not work with Themler theme.
Most (or all) of such plug-ins are created for themes which utilize the built-in custom header functionality as in default WP theme. Themler theme has different structure and Header.
You can achieve different Headers with different custom templates (of Post and Page type) or widget areas.

Thank you,
Olivia

This is not true. I am unable to create another header in the page template, while there is one in the home template. They are linked. You change an image in any template, it changes the other

Hi,

To create several different headers you should remove the shared Header control from one template and then add the section with the desired content.

Hella

Hi,

Currently the header options are located under the Layout tab. If you still have issues, let us know, we would try to provide more detailed instruction.

the Header options is located under the Layout Tab - but this does not allow me to have different header for Home and for Page templates.
it's only allows me to Turn off Header for some of the Templates.

Header is applied for ALL Templates and I can't see the option to have Different Headers on Different Templates.

Hi,

I mean that you can disable the shared header for one of the templates, then add any section in place of the header. Or copy the existing header from any other template and paste it in the current one, use the simple paste option, without share. Then you can edit this header on this template and it won't affect any other pages.

Sincerely,
Hella

If that does not help, please attach your theme to the ticket and explain what exactly you want to change.

I am trying to change the background of the header on the page template, but everytime that I do it changes the header on the home page. The video link in this thread does not help because that is a very old version of themler. When I click on the header, and right click, it only shows remove section. When I remove section, it removes the header on the home template as well. No dialogue box comes up asking to remove on current template only.

So my question, how do i change the background of the header on the page template without affecting the home template in the most recent version of themler?

I have attached 2 screenshots

Hi,

You mean the image? Are you sure that the image is inside the Header control and not the page background? Maybe you could export your theme with the content and editor included so we could test it on our end.

Hella

In the newest version of themler, there is nothing called header control. I completed the design layout for the home page template. Everything looks good. Now I am working on the page template. However, when I click on the "section" in the header template to change the background, it affects the home template.

Here is access to the website that I am developing.

PS. I have watched this video, but this is a very old version of themler so it is not helping. You need to update the video tutorials to match the newest versions of themler.

Hi,

I have removed the access to the site from the previous message as this is the public case.

As for the problem. The section in the header is the shared control as it is inside the header that is shared through all the templates in the theme. When you edit it on one template it also changes on the other. The solution from the previous posts was to disable header on one template and add a section instead of it so it won't be shared on the other templates and could be edited separately.

In your particular case the solution may be a bit different. If you need to have a different header on the home template only, then switch to the page template and use the desired background for the Header control. Then go to the Home template and under the Header tab enable the Homepage Style option and use the desired background there.
