Hi Themeler Team. I would like to add a wish for adding parallax scrolling effects. I saw you have option to put images fixed when scrolling, maybe add like an option that you can choose the element's slide down speed, and than its automatically parallax....or ofcourse use any solution you think of..

Thanks for your time! Themeler is great!

Shaul.

I fully concur. This would be a excellent feature. However there are still several bugs to work out.

Hi,

In fact, even now you can do a simple "parallax" effect.
Let's take a Header or DIV, Row, etc. Simply add background image to the chosen control and change it's position to "fixed":

background-attachment.png

That's all. Now you have a nice "parallax" effect on scrolling.
I've found this funny cat in the internet to illustrate what I mean:
http://andrevv.com/
The author used the same technique.
Here is one more example provided by Ryan in one of his topics:
http://forsolutionsllc.com/
It's closer to reality.

BTW, you can do the same with shortcodes in content:

[box css="background-image:url('path-to-image'); background-attachment: fixed;"] any content here [/box]

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi Olivia, I have tried your method and it works, but the scrolling of the content makes it look jumpy , and not smooth when scrolling. is this something that can be edited currently?

Also, i would like to know if there is any update on the parallax elements for themler?

Thanks :)

Hi Shaul,

Themler supports Smooth scrolling feature. It scrolls the page to the anchor smoothly. It works in the same way as on any other non-Themler websites.
Could you please provide an example of what exactly you want to achieve?
It would be easier to answer your question.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi Olivia, what i ment , is that on regular scrolling inside of chrome, when i scroll, it scrolls in little jumps, so when using your technique here, there is no smooth scrolling option, because there is no anchor, only the fixed background..... ofcourse when you do add this option it will work, i was just wandering it there is any workaround for this until you add this feature?

Thanks...

Hi Shaul,

Do you mean that you want to simply slow down the page scrolling speed on mouse scroll?
Like here?
http://jsfiddle.net/promatik/NFk2L/

If so you can use this solution in Themler. Add this code to the Theme Settings >> Additional HTML:

<script>
jQuery (function ($) {
place code here
 });
</script>

Thank you,
Olivia

Parallax would be fantastic, for example when selecting the "parallax" effect, that it would provide an option that you can chose the % the background scrolls in comparison with the "foreground". eg. background 50% of the content's scrolling speed :-D.

Also there is no point in trying to fix EVERY issue before bringing out new functions, there will always be new bugs.

And random function please.
I dont know why many people ask about it.

This snippet works, but remove data-animation and everything over images because slide function is not executed when other images are there by browser reload/refresh. Use it if you dont have any blocks over images.

<script type='text/javascript'>
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
!function ( $) {
//prevents js conflicts
"use strict";

$.CustomizrSlidesShuffle = function() {
var o = [];
//get original slides nodes and order
$('.item' , '.carousel-inner').each(function() {
$(this).removeClass('active');
o.push($(this));
});

//randomizes
for(var j, x, i = o.length; i; j = parseInt(Math.random() * i), x = o[--i], o[i] = o[j], o[j] = x);

//displays reordered slides
o[0].addClass('active');
for (var i = 0; i < o.length - 1; i++) {
o[i].after(o[i+1]);
};
};
}(window.jQuery);
//calls the function
jQuery.CustomizrSlidesShuffle();
});
</script>
