Summary

Normally, the Horizontal Menu is a main navigation section which is intended to assist visitors in navigating through the website pages.

Usage

The default Themler template for Joomla contains the Horizontal menu control and the appropriate hmenu module position in Joomla that contains the Joomla Main menu.

By adding more Horizontal Menu controls and configuring the Position Name property, you can add more than one Horizontal Menu to your theme.

Adding more than one menu

In Themler:

  1. Add Horizontal Menu control to the place where you want the menu to appear:

    If you want Horizontal Menu to appear on all pages you should add it inside Header area.

  2. Change the menu Position name if needed.

In Joomla:

  1. Go to Joomla Admin.

  2. Crate the Joomla menu in Menus > Menu Manager > Add New Menu.

  3. Create new Menu Module in Joomla:

    • Go to Extensions > Module Manager.
    • Click New.
    • Select module type Menu.
    • Specify Title as your module name.
    • Select your menu in Select Menu list.
    • Type a Position name for the module, e.g. "second_hmenu".
    • Click Save (see image below)

  4. Go back to Themler and add another Horizontal Menu control.

  5. Specify the new module position in the Position Name property.
