BillionDigital has a big problem - PayPal Business MasterCard cannot be used to purchase your Themler subscriptions.
I just attempted to purchase a 1 year Pro subscription and when I entered my card details at https://www.plimus.com/jsp/buynow.jsp and when I clicked submit I got this message:
Error Processing Transaction
Authorization has failed for this transaction. Please try again or contact your bank for assistance
At first I thought it was my mistake, but I checked and everything was entered correctly. I completely started from scratch and re-attempting the purchase another 3 times, with the same result.
So I called PayPal Business MasterCard department and immediately the agent on the phone could see that I was having a problem with this specific transaction, and that it was actually being declined due to a problem with the merchant processor that BillionDigital uses.
The agent asked - "Are you trying to make a purchase from BlueSnap?" and at first I said no because I didn't recognize that name, but then I noticed at the very bottom of the checkout page for Themler at https://www.plimus.com/jsp/buynow.jsp it says "Secure e-Commerce services are provided by BlueSnap, an online reseller for BillionDigital.com." with a link to http://home.bluesnap.com/ , so I told her "yes, I'm trying to purchase some software from BillionDigital and the plimus.com checkout page shows BlueSnap at the bottom.
She put me on hold to verify some information and then came back and told me:
"As of almost a year ago PayPal Business MasterCard will not allow
transactions with BlueSnap. I can't tell the exact reason, but this
usually only happens when the merchant / processor has a high rate of
fraud and chargebacks."
I'm posting this in the Public Answers area so that it might help save someone else time and frustration.
And I'm willing to guess that there have been other sales lost for BillionDigital over this that they don't even know about because most of us are busy working and don't feel like taking the time to go through all of that and post about it.
