Change the Bootstrap NavBar Breakpoint

Hi

I want to change the point at which my menu changes from the standard one to the Bootstrap menu bar. I've had a look here: https://coderwall.com/p/wpjw4w/change-the-bootstrap-navbar-breakpoint but can't get it to work.

Right now, it breaks at 768px, the default.

I've tried adjusting the values on the theme layout tab in settings but this doesn't make any difference to the break-point. Not sure what the theme layout tab actually does by the way.

Does anybody know how to do this without re-compiling Bootstrap?

Many thanks, David

Hi,

Values in the layout grid control the width of your page in each viewport. You can not change the break points. But you can set the menu to start acting as the responsive one from phone, tablet, laptop or even from desktop. That can be set under the Horizontal Menu >> Mobile Menu options.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi Hella

Thanks for that.

OK, so I've kept the default values of the layout as per attachment:

I've set the mobile menu to show on tablets or less. I can't figure out how to make the width at which this kicks in to 900px. It doesn't seem to make any difference when I change the theme layout values. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks, David

Hi,

There is no way to make your menu go to the responsive menu in 900px width screen.
The values in the screen shot control the width of the page (content) for each responsive view.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi

OK, understand. I know there are ways around it with Bootstrap but making it work with Themler right now is probably way too complicated.

I understand that when Bootstrap 4 comes out, this will be a lot easier. I hope your developers manage to utilise this within some future update. It will certainly be useful as making a menu break on a certain screen size is quite important so far as responsiveness is concerned.

Many thanks, David
