I need to verify you are not going to repeat the HUGE oversite with Artisteer and SEO structure on templates, Joomla in particular.

As of now Artisteer outputs a SEO disaster that is not even fixable by editing the template after export.

  1. Artisteer = Headline is H1 totally wrong, never have the same H1 tag on all pages and this destroys the opportunity to have a different one since you are NOT supposed to have multiple H1 tags on any page. Can be fixed manually after ever export. Huge pain in the...

  2. Page Heading and Article Title are both H2 and cannot be changed even after export because they are the same class. In Joomla each page can have a Page Heading at the menu level customized for the page outside the page title tag. This is built into Joomla to have full control over SEO and is brilliant. Artisteer is killing this amazing opportunity. This should be an H1 tag and the Article Headings should remain the H2.

Are these going to be working in Themler? God I hope so. This cannot possibly be overlooked again.

Hello guys
Did you ever fix this?
I've just noticed that all page titles are h2's which is tragic for SEO and all the many website I have designed.

How can I go back to all my clients and tell them this?

Can you perhaps change the page titles to be h1's please?
then I can open all my designs and update them to latest version.

Thanks

You are not seriously asking for them to work on Themler? I gave up. They don't care about this anymore.

Dave -
You are 100% correct.

IMHO, at NO time should a template "automatically" mandate the use of the H1 tag - period. Allow project developers to assign the H1 where necessary - as they deem fit.
This is very common with a large portion of templates I've found. The developer(s) used the H1 for several things - none of which are an actual title.
I've battled this for years and usually end up hacking the core template files in order to fix the problem. I have a current project that "had" the H1 assigned 12 times to various parts....of 1 page! Worse, it was the home page!

If there are no H1 tags assigned by the template, but the template "allows" heading tags to be changed, then the problem is solved.

Use the H3 or H4 just as a place-holder if necessary, but allowing the tag to be replaced is a perfect solution.

There's my "penny" of thoughts for the day.

Did you update to the beta version? Version 418 has the fix in it. Not sure why the stable version is taking so long to release. Upage I assume is why everything is so slow now.

Anyway, once the update is done and you did not use their fix it should be working correctly. You need to be using the Page Heading in Joomla and have Show Blog Title in Themler under Posts.

I cannot hardly believe it but they fixed it! It took FOREVER but our persistence paid off and now I can use Joomla's powerful SEO features correctly without workarounds.

This has restored my faith in the program and the developer. Good job!

Thank you to everyone who voted and for Themler to listen and fix this major oversight. Hopefully future issues like this can be done in less than 2 years.

How did they fix this??? I don't see it fixed.. What are the steps?

It was a monumental day in my mind. I honestly thought it was never going to get fixed. I am moving on and have no bad feelings about it taking so long. It shows you do care about users and CMS standards.

Much appreciated!

They consider it a non issue and have put me off for 2 years. I've been paying them for 7 years now. I know this is a small update on their part. Just like a tiny change in a PHP output. Change a 2 to a 1 and save. Then upon next update we all have a fix.

Come on Themler, can you fix this please???

Hello Dave, I allowed myself to visit your site, I thought Themler team had fixed this error, it is the dark side and critical against Google who rejects the non-compliant sites, we miss the H1.

Hi DaveOzric

Did you ever do those Joomla sites with 4 templates examples

Yes, I did and gave the Themler support the site in my private ticket. All crickets over there though too.

Here is the site.

http://aspiralmind.com

2 Default Joomla themes and 2 big players in the 3rd party arena. I doubt you will find any other template that is not using the H1 for the Page Heading since the documentation is pretty clear about wrapping the Page Heading in an H1 tag. The whole entire point of this feature in Joomla is to have the single H1 tag on a page be unique and placed on top. It's brilliant actually, but not with Themler. Why can't they just fix this. Over 2 YEARS they claim it's so hard to do. They simply do not wish to work with us on this.

Its the same silence we got with Artisteer and I've got that old sinking feeling

I remember reading the news letter in July 29, 2015 that came with an apology and it convinced me to buy into the Themler thing

Quote:
It's been a while since we had significant news to announce and we apologize for the long delay. We actually didn't anticipate it could take this long and we owe you an explanation, while wanting to make it up to you as well.

I don't want to be disappointed again, because this is an amazing product but this bug needs to be fixed now. We don't want to wait another 2 years or forever

I would be nice to get an answer. I got nothing in my private support ticket either. Awfully quite around here lately. Are they still around?

DaveOzric I hope along with you

Actually, now that I have mentioned WP, isn't that really the problem. Joomla is no longer a 1st class citizen in the Artisteer/wordPress world. Back in the beginning I always thought that Artisteer was initially made for Joomla (I may be wrong on that) but over time moved to catering more for the WP way of doing things i.e. post based where as Joomla's page is intrinsically tied to the menu navigation concept, and it is this that they haven't understood

To be fair many don't get it, especially when coming from some other CMS's. With Joomla's new router hopefully coming before the end of the year we could be in a position where everything SEO/friendly is humming along and it would be more than nice for Themler to have followed suit

The thing is, if we can't get this basic "Semantic" thing right how are we going to have a way to properly implement HTML5 "Sections" with multiple "H1's" per section

We need Themler's Joomla option to produce templates that map correctly to Joomla's page structure without using these cludgy work-a-rounds, otherwise why use a template generator

Please Mr. Themler can you give us an answer here

Back in the early days of Artisteer this was excusable but not once Google took over the Web and SEO became so important. Joomla itself eventually got around to addressing the whole SEO thing and provided wonderful solutions to many of the issues to satisfy Google. However for some reason the Artisteer/Themler people just don't get it

Such a shame. So close but yet so far. This one thing makes the whole tool untenable

The fact is we have been begging for this to be fixed for 10+ yrs and was an issue already well known when the first steps were taken to create Themler

Well let's see now that there is a clear example. I also have a private ticket open that has the test site open to them with full admin access so they can look at it.

If they truly want to be our partner then they need to start keeping up with SEO trends. Very important! Also bug fix updates much much more often.

Its 2 yrs since the original poster started this request, so I suppose we just have to accept that it is never going to be fixed

Time to move on to another tool

Tragic
