I need to verify you are not going to repeat the HUGE oversite with Artisteer and SEO structure on templates, Joomla in particular.

As of now Artisteer outputs a SEO disaster that is not even fixable by editing the template after export.

  1. Artisteer = Headline is H1 totally wrong, never have the same H1 tag on all pages and this destroys the opportunity to have a different one since you are NOT supposed to have multiple H1 tags on any page. Can be fixed manually after ever export. Huge pain in the...

  2. Page Heading and Article Title are both H2 and cannot be changed even after export because they are the same class. In Joomla each page can have a Page Heading at the menu level customized for the page outside the page title tag. This is built into Joomla to have full control over SEO and is brilliant. Artisteer is killing this amazing opportunity. This should be an H1 tag and the Article Headings should remain the H2.

Are these going to be working in Themler? God I hope so. This cannot possibly be overlooked again.

They consider it a non issue and have put me off for 2 years. I've been paying them for 7 years now. I know this is a small update on their part. Just like a tiny change in a PHP output. Change a 2 to a 1 and save. Then upon next update we all have a fix.

Come on Themler, can you fix this please???

I cannot hardly believe it but they fixed it! It took FOREVER but our persistence paid off and now I can use Joomla's powerful SEO features correctly without workarounds.

This has restored my faith in the program and the developer. Good job!

Thank you to everyone who voted and for Themler to listen and fix this major oversight. Hopefully future issues like this can be done in less than 2 years.

It was a monumental day in my mind. I honestly thought it was never going to get fixed. I am moving on and have no bad feelings about it taking so long. It shows you do care about users and CMS standards.

Much appreciated!

Did you update to the beta version? Version 418 has the fix in it. Not sure why the stable version is taking so long to release. Upage I assume is why everything is so slow now.

Anyway, once the update is done and you did not use their fix it should be working correctly. You need to be using the Page Heading in Joomla and have Show Blog Title in Themler under Posts.

Dave -
You are 100% correct.

IMHO, at NO time should a template "automatically" mandate the use of the H1 tag - period. Allow project developers to assign the H1 where necessary - as they deem fit.
This is very common with a large portion of templates I've found. The developer(s) used the H1 for several things - none of which are an actual title.
I've battled this for years and usually end up hacking the core template files in order to fix the problem. I have a current project that "had" the H1 assigned 12 times to various parts....of 1 page! Worse, it was the home page!

If there are no H1 tags assigned by the template, but the template "allows" heading tags to be changed, then the problem is solved.

Use the H3 or H4 just as a place-holder if necessary, but allowing the tag to be replaced is a perfect solution.

There's my "penny" of thoughts for the day.

Hello guys
Did you ever fix this?
I've just noticed that all page titles are h2's which is tragic for SEO and all the many website I have designed.

How can I go back to all my clients and tell them this?

Can you perhaps change the page titles to be h1's please?
then I can open all my designs and update them to latest version.

Thanks

You are not seriously asking for them to work on Themler? I gave up. They don't care about this anymore.
