Insert Slider inside Section. Remove image and set inside video 100% height and width. I am saying it because Slider is already optimized for position: absolute and other things needed. You can do it without Slider but then you have to know what are you doing.

Hi,

What image can not be remove? You can use the Container control instead of Slider. Add it, then open options in the right panel, set the position to absolute and width and height to 100%. Then insert video.

Sincerely,
Hella

I actually got it to work, not sure how, but when I upgraded to v355 it still in in the layer, but now it is not flush with the left side of the page. I would also like to add some content, like heading and some text in front of the video, any suggestions on how to do that? Thanks for all your help to this point

Hi, Tom!

Please attach your theme so we could review the settings. Most probably the space can be removed under the Home >> Settings >> Grid padding, set it to 0px.
Also I didn't knew you was using the old version. In that case you should use the Canvas control instead of the Container. If using container set the Position to absolute. Then you will be able to position other controls on the top of the video.

@ Sumit Ojha
We'll consider your suggestion about the video tutorial. Actually the video posted by Tom above may help you, just use the Container with the position set to absolute. If that does not help, provide your template so we could review the settings.

Sincerely,
Hella

Everytime I change the setting to Absolute it pushes the video out of the container or canvas and puts it underneath. I was finally able to add some images and text over the video, but it does not resize when screen size is changed. any suggestions would be helpful.

Here is a website : http://cutevamp.com

It's look like it's designed in themler and have a youtube video in background and also have text and elements above the video.

Themler Team: please add a system to use youtube videos as background for sections in new versions of themlers. It's highly required these days. DIVI theme and almost all type of themes have this ability and it's need to be in themler as well.

Hello Tom,
I checked your theme and here is what I see

VideoS.png

In fact I see no problem with video, it covers all the width and works without a problem.
Could you please elaborate what exactly is wrong with it?

regards,
Aileen

It was the margin setting in Home that you suggested that made it line up correctly. I was wondering how to add text on top of video and make it responsive as well. Sections with images as bg do it just fine but for video not so good. Any suggestions? Again thanks for all you help in this matter

Eventhough there is no such standard functionality in themler, It is possible to create such a background. In fact it is very easy to realise. This is an example of my own site: www.cumaliaksu.nl

Just follow the next steps:
1) You first need to insert a slider section
(you need to clean te slider content by deleting all the containers and the image)
2) Now you have a blank slider you can add a video into the slider section.
(You need to delete also the Max width value and set the width and eight values of the video to 100vh and 100vw, select absolute positioning middle)
3) You can insert any functionality on the video by drag drop, but dont forget to put the value of the video layer into send to back, this is very important. Otherwhise all the insert will dissapear in the background.

Hope this will help!
