change homepage

Hi,
I am trying to change the default homepage in this wordpress site: www.luciled.net

This is what I made:

1) I created a new home template called "home 2"

2) I created a new page in wordpress backend and and named it "home" (while the default homepage coming from themler was "Homepage Luciled". I set for this new home the template "home 2"
3) I set the "home 2" template for the new wordpress home

4) I set the new home as default page

But now the home is the same as the orignal template without some content.
I read some answers into the forum but didnt' solve the problem.

How can I place the new home template as the effective real homepage of this site?
