Multiple Home Templates for WordPress

We downloaded a template from BillionThemes and it came with a home page with content.
It is nice, but we want to experiment with creating a new one and still keep the theme one in case it doesn't work out.
So creating a second Home Template does work, but I can't find a way to activate it. It keeps showing the original theme's home page with the static content and nothing we can find switches it to the new "Home Template". It does show in with the house icon and everything...but how do we tell WordPress/Themler to use this template, and not the original one?
Even setting a static page in WordPress and setting that page's Template to the new Home Template doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Hello Mark,

Please make sure you have set the new template as Home template in WP admin >> Appearance >> Theme Options. This article can be helpful:
