Theme Design flow

In Artisteer the template is a complete pre-formatted design package - fonts, color scheme, hi,h2,h3..., links and so forth.

I am not where in Themler can I find the equivalent. You Theme, Functional, which includes +layout, 2columns, 3columns and so forth.

Is the process as follows;

  1. Pick a Theme - which includes a collection of designs - such as font, font color, menu design, link design.
  2. Once you pick the Theme ALL the other add-ons, such as sections follow the designs included in the Theme.
  3. It seems to me that when you add other "sections" to the Theme the design of the Theme does not follow.

Can you please explain. I dont see any explanation on your site detailing the logic followed in Themler.

It's true that this is not the simplistic tool that Artisteer was. This is a much more involved process but you can do a lot more with it. It also takes a bit to get used to. I am starting to really get a feel for it and must say who ever thought of it is pretty much a genius. Just the whole of it and what it does is pretty impressive to accomplish.

Hi,

You mean that you have a theme with some sections, then you apply different styles under the Style tab and those sections do take the new styles. Then you add new sections and they do not take the styles? Probably check that the new section does not have different styles applied to the exact controls within it. The logic is the following. You can set the direct styles for each control. If no styles are specified for the control, then the styles of the parent control will be applied. That can be a Section, a Module Position, Sidebar or any other control that includes your one. The styles for parent control may be added under the drop down menu in that control options >> More Styles option. And if no styles are applied to that parent control, then the general styles from the Styles tab will be used for thee control you add.
If you have any issues, please explain them in ore details so we could help you.

I am not running into an issue using THEMLER. I just have a question on how it functions. Let me rephrase the question.

Step 1 - I choose a theme.

  1. Step 2- When I add other items be it, SECTION, MODULE POSITION, SIDEBAR, FOOTER, or any other control. Do they ALL follow the design (font, color,hyperlink, and so forth) parameters of the theme I originally chose?

  2. And if they do, when I make a change to a color "color" does it cascade to all other items, module, sections...and so forth

Hi,

I have described the logic of styles and how elements do inherit them. If you change the color under the Styles tab, it will be changed for all elements that do not have another color specified under the control settings itself.
