Error uploading theme to wordpress

When I create a theme on my Mac desktop Themler, and then upload it to Wordpress I get this error message:

The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

The zip file that exports from the desktop program is so small it's got to be empty.

After looking around a little bit, the first place I would start if looking at the zip archive to ensure it's not empty. It's also possible that if you are running with a web host they may have lowered the maximum upload size too small to be able to install it through the uploader. If this is the case then you want to upload the extracted zip folder to your themes folder manually.

Another reason this error may occur with some plugins/themes is that you've run out of disk space on your hosting service. If this is the case you may need to contact your hosting service.
