Site CSS & Cache Issues

Hello! So I posted this once before, but Themlers response was for me to just disable Joomla's cache, so obviously I would prefer not to do that. Does anyone else here have any other ideas on what this issue might be?

Anytime I enable the site cache on Joomla, my menu's css goes weird. It changes all fonts to white and on a white background it just dissapears until hovered over. The font in themler is dark grey so when editing the template it shows up fine.

Also if I immediately save the template using the web based editor, it will show up fine only on the pc that I'm currently working from - the font issue still remains on other pc's.

This is only for the horizontal menu along the top - the rest of the site text works perfectly fine. Any other ideas? I've cleared the cache, tried using progressive and conservative, disabled browser caching in htaccess - not sure what else I can do.

Hi,

we've answered you in your private topic. Looks like the issue was related to combination of joomla cache and jchoptimize cache. I've disabled this plugin, cleared all caches and enabled it back. The menu now look ok my side.

Thank you,
Olivia

I actually just recently installed jch optimize after the problem started in an attempt to fix the issue.

As you can see - the issue is still not resolved - and I can assure you its not related to jch optimize as this plugin was not installed at the time of the issue starting.

As mentioned previously - if you go into Themler and save the template again, SOMETIMES it will work for a few hours and then the issue comes back after.

I am having an issue with Joomla cache now too. All my sections on my home template just vanish and only clearing the cache brings them back. It will work for a while and then they all just disappear again.

I would like to use the Joomla cache and just can't for the life of me figure out why the cache does not get the section code too. When I inspect the page it's just not there.

Themler people, any ideas?

Hello Brandon and Dave,
we need some more info from your end.
Have you noticed any specific steps when menu or other controls disappears from the live page?
Do you mean that you enabled Joomla cache and did not open theme in Themler. And after some time controls disappears from live page? Or theme was opened and saved in Themler?

regards,
Aileen

My site was working fine with the cache on. Then one day all section/slider code just vanished after a time.

  1. Turned on cache
  2. At some point the section content and slider vanishes off homepage
  3. Clear Joomla cache
  4. Section and slider reappear
  5. After some time it all vanishes again

So for some reason the Joomla cache is not grabbing your code only the core Joomla code. It has header, footer and article text on homepage.

Hello Dave,
I'm terribly sorry for delay in response.
Thank you for details.
Are you using standard Joomla caching option or special plugin? What is Joomla version?

regards,
Aileen

Hallo Dave,

I did had the same problem and to disable caching is not a good solution. The cach option in de menu module did fix my problem.
Module -> Main menu -> advanced -> caching -> no caching

Hopefully it solves you're problem to.

Greetings,

Jochum

I had also the same issue.

Setting the Joomla cache system on used to deface the template completely. So I had to unpublish the plugin. Now with Dave's solution, it is working again. However, when I publish JCH Optimize, the issue returns.

Any other solutions, please.

Thank you

Sorry for the delay. I am using a 3rd party caching tool but have no issues with this. It's when I turn on the Joomla cache to conservative in Global config. I do not use the Joomla System Cache Plugin though.

I was using Joomla 3.6.5 but have updated to 3.7.2 and have not tested it since to verify. The strange thing is it was fine but after support logged in on a private ticket it started. That may be a total coincidence but something did change. I plan on getting back to testing. I only have this issue on one site.
