Hello Peter,
Yes, Themler can run both with Chrome and Firefox. But this is applicable in case you run it in a browser. If you do not like having Chrome on your computer, let Themler run with Firefox - but yes, it will open Themler in a browser window, but Themler will have the same functions.
Also, when you export the theme and would like to install it on your host to further working with real CMS content - also in this case you may run in Chrome or Firefox.
When you install Themler, all necessary components are installed by default. If you remove something this will make Themler run through the installed browser - Firefox. As a rule, you won't have to install Chrome additionally if you haven't remove it on purpose after Themler installation.
