Hi,

I am a bit stuck with all the options and changes of how things work. Can you provide a How To to create the following product slider:

Assuming the following: 16 products in category. Slider shows all products in category

Displaying the following number of products in a row and only one row

Desktop: 4
Laptop: 4
Tablet: 3
Phone 1

I made a sample design which shows the location and alignment of all elements. (Both with and without product Sale and product New Icon)

The issues I run into at the moment are:

  • alignment of Price element and the Icons
  • Number of rows shown with tablet and phones
  • Layout is different with tablet and phones.

I have spent hours now to get it working as I want. Maybe you can provide a tutorial?

With regards
Jurjen

Hello

I've created a basic example for you.
Please check the attached theme (exported). You can install it on our cloud and load Themler to see my changes.

This is slider layout:

slider-layout.png

Please check the settings of Row and Columns (both columns) INSIDE Slider.
Also Product Price has absolute positioning.

Here is result:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Olivia

Thank you.

I solved my puzzle for one thing. I think it must be a setting thing.

I want to show the following number of products besides each other and only 1 row.

Desktop: 4
Laptop: 4
Tablet: 3
Phone 1

So I would see on the desktop and laptop < prod-prod-prod-prod> on tablet < prod-prod-prod> and on the Phone < prod>

Now I see two rows on the tablet

< prod-prod-prod prod>

And on the phone

<prod prod prod prod>

How can I solve that?

Thank you

Hi,

I see what you mean. Unfortunately you can't control the number of products to slider for each responsive mode separately.
This setting is general for all modes (desktop, tablet, etc).

But I'll add this feature to our wish list.

Thank you,
Olivia

I will have to use then what we have and modify my design.

For the wishlist on the slider I have some things that are interesting maybe.

  • Different design for each slider
  • Border using an image

It is regarding related products.

There is an option in the product sliders to use related products as a slider. But where in themler is it located and from which template is it called?

Jurjen

The "Slider related" outputs product's related products (Catalog >> Manage Products >> choose product >> Related Products).

Currently there is a bug with displaying related Products slider in Themler. It will be fixed in the next Themler update.
After the next update you will be able to show Related Products slider in the Sidebar Right on the Product Details page.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi,

I have an issue I am not able to resolve.

When you go to our start page you see two productsliders. They work fine, for one small thing.

The alignment of the price is off. Not all prices are alligned correctly as shown in the image. They should all align on the bottom of the div. I see that an height is added. But where is it added and where can I correct it.

You can look at the live site at www.hollandsuperstore.com

Thank you for your help.

Regards
Jurjen

jurjen,

Sorry for the delay.
Could you please try changing Row height to "Full Height(FlexBox)":

full-height-flexbox2.png

This should help.

Kriss,

Please check Template Manager >> click on template. You should see the Slider settings.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hello,

I'm also confused by Virtuemart product slider. On front page I'd like to display featured products in 1 row and four columns(products). Once I could achieve this layout. After I copied the module because I wanted to display recently viewed products in the left column of the products page. Since then only 2 products are displayed on front page. I deleted the copied module but I can't figure out how to restore 4 products in a row on front. I attached the current front page view and my settings.

I have another problem with the Virtumart template that you can see on the front page screen capture as well. I added fix on scroll effect to horizontal menu. I added it to row and menu as well. It works fine if I scroll page from top to bottom. But if I reload the page at the middle of the page then the navigation area should be seen at top but it is lower as seen on screen capture.

Other menu related problem. I wanted to set transparency to horizontal menu when page scrolled down (menu fixed at top). I can see the transparency option in the settings of fix on scroll effect but it simple doesn't work. I also tried it when I edited WordPress theme but it didn't work either.

I use the latest version of Themler desktop.

Please help.

Thank you,
Andras

Hey Jurjen, I totally understand your struggle — I faced something similar while setting up a responsive product slider for my store. It felt like solving a tricky puzzle from Block Blast, where everything needs to align perfectly. Funny enough, I once used a Block Blast Solver, an advanced AI-smart tool that analyzes patterns and helps solve complex levels — and I wished there was one for CSS grids too! Hang in there, once the breakpoints and flex settings click, it all falls into place.

To build this type of responsive product slider, start by using a single-row carousel with clear breakpoints for desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile. Define the number of visible items per breakpoint so the layout stays consistent across devices. Use a flex-based structure inside each product card to keep the price and sale or new icons aligned, even when some products do not have badges. Testing each breakpoint carefully helps avoid extra rows on tablets and phones. For managing small visual assets like icons consistently across layouts, a Favicon Generator or similar asset tool can also help standardize icon sizes and formats for cleaner alignment.
