Hi,
To provide you with the best solution please describe in more details what exactly you're trying to achieve and how this container should behave in different responsive modes.
The problem that there are a few ways to achieve the result you want. The exact solution depends on the desired result.
Container is not exactly the same as Section. Section is a logic section of the page. Section can be exported as ZIP and use in other themes. We have a large library of different Section:
In this library you can find the ready Section of the desired layout.
Container is simple wrapper.
Initially, the Container should be located inside Section.
It's better to center the Container inside Section and them out any other control inside this centered Container.
Why exactly you added Image control instead of the background image?
The simplest solution is the following:
The options in "Positioning" dialog are different depending on the configuration of the parent control. In any case for vertical centering you need to specify the Section height.
Please keep us posted about the progress.
Thank you,
Olivia

The simplest solution is the following:
- add empty Section
- set its height
- add background image to Section
- add Container inside Section:
!section-and-container.png!
- use Positioning option to position Container inside Section:

The options in "Positioning" dialog are different depending on the configuration of the parent control. In any case for vertical centering you need to specify the Section height.
