After accepting the terms of use, the system checks the setup, and asks if I want to open the program and as soon as I preceed to open nothing else happens.

Could you please try completely removing Themler and all its traces that have been installed so far, also remove Themler folder from the Mac library. Then temporarily disable antivirus and firewall, download and install Themler for Mac anew.
