Unable to add content in side bar

Hi!

I have created a side bar in an design, but I am unable to add any content. I have tried drag and drop with widgets, container, image etc. Either nothing happens or it ends up on the middle of the page. Any suggestions?

My bad ;) Had to dropping items work in the middle of the side bar, but it will not saver any of my changes. Only background color.
