Hi,
The layout on the screenshot uses rectangular images and it looks ok. You're using square images. You can stretch the image in width but it will stretch the image in height too. As alternative you can use images as background image of the stretched container. But in this case the image will be cropped.

The solution should be the same.
But as I can see the images uploaded to posts as featured images are 150px x 150px. They are too small for this layout.
