Themler Desktop Beta version is finally here!

This version allows creating themes directly on your computer and you are not required to use any external web hosting.
Thanks to HTML 5 AppCache technology, Themler downloads its components at its first run, minimizes the Internet traffic and reduces the startup time. However you still need Internet connection to use this version.

Themler desktop installs all components it needs: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, wooCommerce, VirtueMart, Magento and PrestaShop, as well as Apache, MySQL and PHP services. All these components are installed automatically and no additional configuration is required.

The built-in Theme Management dialog allows you to easily manage your projects directly within Themler and you don’t need to utilize a CMS administration panel.

For whom the desktop version is?

The Desktop version simplifies the process of installation and configuration of Apache, PHP, MySQL and WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento and PrestaShop on local computer for non-experienced users by making it a one-click process. And Desktop version it is a bit faster since it works with local CMS.

The drawback of desktop version is separate Apache and MySQL instances running on your computer even if you already have these programs installed.

For experienced users, who already have WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento and PrestaShop working on their computers, we recommend to download and install our blank themes from themler.com instead of installing the desktop version.

Note: This is Beta version and therefore unexpected issues are possible.

I need to use the program off line because I go to sites without internet connection, can I use it normally and generate themes?, or I must have internet.

Currently Themler Desktop uses less traffic but still requires internet connection. We're trying to make it more offline in the future.

In how many pcs can I install the program?

You're allowed to install Themler Desktop on one desktop and one laptop.

You say themler dosnt export content like I do in artisteer, what export? only the theme??, and If I want to make the subpages?? must I do it manually?.

Currently Themler creates only theme (for CMS). If you need dynamic content you should add it via CMS admin panel. You can add static HTML controls in Themler but they will be a part of the theme and you will not be able to edit their content via CMS admin panel.

We're working on the Content editor. It's coming soon.

Hi everyone,

We've recently updated Themler desktop version.
Some major bugs are resolved there:

Fixed not found issue.
Now Themler should work fine when run under Standard user.
Fixed vbs script run error.
Fixed joomla\administrator/index.php was not found on this server issue.

Knowing issues:

APPCRASH issue when running Themler installation .exe files
Desktop installer some times crashes on start up.

We're working on these issues. They will be fixed ASAP.

Themler does not have content export option now, but it is in our plan, so please follow the updates.
About the language, you mean the application UI language or the language pack for you site? We expect the option for translating the Themler UI in the nearest time where every user can participate. The language packs for the site should be downloaded from the appropriate CMS resource and installed on the site as supposed by the CMS options.

Unlike Themler online version the Themler Desktop is working locally on your computer, but for some operations it should access server and thus Internet connection is needed. The Live Preview option is included and it open page in browser.

Is this version (http://downloads.themler.com/Themler.1.0.50.28323-no-chrome.exe) non-browser based? The browser based version is very slow. It's pointless to have a DESKTOP application that is BROWSER based... Why not just have it being able to PREVIEW in the browser like Artisteer did?

You need to insert the license key in the Themler purchase page:
http://themler.com/Purchase

Here you will find the Themler versions that you can get for free or with the discount. After that press Get on the desired variant and then you will be able to log into Themler and receive updates.

Please use this version if you do not have Chrome browser installed:

Also we are researching the possibilities to provide a choice for the user in which folder the application will be installed.

i have installed themler on a laptop with windows 7 32 b. it works and must tested it know.
but on my computer wich is a lot faster i't won;t install. this is also a windows 7 32 b.

on the laptop the install gives me a popup to install google chrome.
on the computer i have already google chrome, ie and Firefox installed.
there is no popup only the load screen from themler to 100% that's it

does anyone know how to install it?

Windows 8 and most likely Windows 10 users will have a problem with this due to how it's setup.

Windows 8 has a small amount of space allowed to the operating system drive, (C:) which gets smaller in space as the days go by due to Microsoft Updates.

Themler installs automatically to C: which is going to be a BIG ISSUE when it comes to performance.

Allow for the software to be installed on another drive please.

Also, this doesn't seem to be a Windows application at all. It seems to be working on the browser.

Hello, new user with a free sidegrade from Artisteer here, I've been trying to use the desktop app but everytime I select wordpress from the start screen I get the following error:

"Not Found

The requested URL /themler_173478769/wordpress/wp-login.php was not found on this server."

I can select Woocommerce ok but I don't have the license to save any work from there.

Please let us know on what exact step of the installation you receive the crash message?
1. Exactly after the start up.
2. In the installation process.

In case it happens right after the installation begins, then try to download the installation file once again and install it. The problem may be in the file corrupted during the download.
In other case, we need to know on what exact step of the installation it was aborted. What was shown in the installation window before the crash? Please attach the log files from the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Themler\bin\_logs\

You can reply to this case or create a new private topic. In case of creating the new topic, please mention that the issue is related to this one.
