Installing HTML theme with Editor

I'm confused as to the file structure of using an HTML website built with Themler and installing the editor along with it. My impression is that by installing the editor with the theme, I'd be able to log in via a web browser to make changes to the website, including adding pages, sections, etc.

When I looked at the export zip file structure and the instructions for installing a theme with the editor, I'm at a loss to understand how the URL will "find" the home page, etc. I don't expect my users to have to tunnel down three layers to find the index page. (http://host/[themler_folder]/themes/[theme_name]/index.html)

Could someone explain the intended usage here?

Hi,

Unfortunately the path to the theme and editor is hardcoded and should be
http://host/[themler_folder]/themes/[theme_name]/index.html
Otherwise Themler will not be able to start and edit/save theme.
Unfortunately redirecting will not help you in this case because it causes a lit of more issues.
The easiest way is creating a copy of the theme in the www root folder and updating theme files manually from the
www/themes/[theme_name] folder (copy&paste).

Thank you,
Olivia

So, in essence, not a lot different from maintaining a local file on my computer, it's just being kept on the webserver instead. I still have to FTP/copy the updated pages to the root.

Is there consideration to changing this to work differently? I enjoy the flexibility of having Themler in my Wordpress sites work seamlessly to edit on the fly. It would be gold if the HMTL would work the same way.

Hi,

We'll add your suggestion to our wish list for possible future implementations. For now we can not change this behavior easily.

Sincerely,
Hella
