Vertical Menu as Dropdown in WooCommerce

I have recently utilized a custom widget for a drop down list of categories until the latest woocommerce update, now IE isn't compatible with that widget and items won't load when clicked. Time for a new solution.

I am now in need of a drop down menu for categories. The vertical menu appears like it can do the trick, just need to see if I can modify it using CSS to show as drop down menu instead of a full menu of categories. There are too many categories to go through, which is the reason I need a drop down menu. See attached screen shot of the example I am looking for.

Can you help provide me some advise or CSS to resolve this?

Hi,

Maybe some plug-in for such a menu will be easier to find. Try to search for the related WooCommerce plug-ins.

Sincerely,
Hella

Yea I am not finding anything plugin wise. I found something however it wants to display all sub categories in the drop down which is too much. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41029043/woocommerce-custom-categories-dropdown-shortcode-issue

Is this not something I can do with CSS on the Vertical Menu?

Hello,

You may consider using Horizontal Menu as Mega Menu and add links to the category pages as custom links, it can look quite well for your purposes. Please refer to this article to learn more about the megamenu:

No a mega menu can't work. I have about 100 parent categories. It could possibly work if it only showed the parent categories and not the sub categories but I can't seem to make that work.

Actually Support I was mistaken. I am utilizing a WooCoomerce Widget and it is not working with IE. There appears to be an issue with the template preventing it. Can I have you look into it?

As outlined on the inlcuded WooCommerce Widgets Page under included Widgets: Product Categories – A list or dropdown of product categories. Here is the link:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-widgets/

If I utilize this widget, users of Internet Explorer are unable to select Categories.
Here is my staging site where you cat test this:
https://breambugs-staging.jaszunq5-liquidwebsites.com/

Steps to reproduce this issue:
1. In Internet Explorer or Edge browser
2. On the home page select the drop down under products and categories
3. This will sometimes load in IE on the first Category however if you choose another category it won't load.

Hi,

Have you tried that on different computer? I can select categories just fine in IE. Tested it about 6 times.

Hella

Sorry I have a temporary solution in place. The issue is with WooCommerce, I tested using free WooCommerce template and was able to duplicate the results. I have a ticket in with WooCommerce.
