Wordpress Plugin Overrides

Hello - I am having issues when adding plugin theme overrides into my themler directory in Wordpress.

I am customizing Event Calendar for Wordpress and per their instructions, I'm supposed to add a folder in the root of my theme directory and add my template overrides there.

/wp-content/themes/your-theme/tribe-events/list/content.php

However, anytime I do this, Themler wipes out half of the files in the template folder after saving or making a change to the template and then the entire theme is rendered unusable and I have to start over again with uploading a new blank template. Is this a known issue? Is there another way or another directory I'm supposed to use for this purpose? Thanks in advance.

Yea I've done it 3 times so far and I've lost my template every time haha - soooo I'll wait to see if there is a workaround that you guys have for me. I'm not sure what else I can do other than editing the plugins files directly, but they'll get overwritten on the first plugin update.

I also receive this error frequently during saves or changes to a template. Dreamhost can not see anything wrong with the server/hosting settings and the ONLY plugins I have installed are Event Calendar and the Themler plugin.

Hi,

  1. When you edit the theme folder after exporting, please note that all the changes will be overridden on the next theme save/publish or update operation. As I understand, you have already seen this problem. I'm not sure what to suggest you. Maybe altering the plug-in code will be better as probably they do not update the plug-in code so many times as you update the theme.
  2. Regarding the 404 issue. It may be indeed related to the plug-ins or permissions. So try to switch your WP plug-ins and run Themler. If that is not the case, then also check the permissions, should be like in this article:

So there's no workaround to this other than "dont update the plugin"? lol - has nobody else run into this issue? Its fairly common to use the template to override third party plugins even in Joomla as well as wordpress.

Hi,

We provide the tool to override some CSS code or also some other functionality if there is no need to insert the code into some specific location. So when you need to override some CSS, JS or PHP code, you can insert it under the Home >> Settings >> Additonal CSS / Additional HEAD HTML / Additional CMS Code correspondingly.

Sincerely,
Hella
