Dont know what I am missing here.

"Home" is customized with "Customize this template" in both Sidebars and Posts tabs.

I switch to the "Post" template and I see some added controls in "Home" are there too.
When I delete them they are deleted from "Home" too. Sidebars and Posts tab in "Post" template are also activated with "Customize this template".

Theme is one converted Artisteer theme.

How to separate "front-page.php" and "single.php" ? They are 2 very different templates and should not share added controls in the first place.

"Set as default" for "Home" template works in Sidebars tab. Posts tab gives Sorry error occured.

I warn all Users to test it without clicking Save button. All changes can be nulled by refreshing browser page. You can lose hours of your work if you click Save button.

Is Solution

I took some of the finished presets for "Post" template and it sorted all problems and removed all things from "Home" template.

Man, it should not be so complicated fast it seems simple. It is not easy to click Save button after this. I spent almost 2 days of very intense working and testing things on "Home" template. All widgets has its own styling.

Guess backup is one solution in situations like this. Theme folder and preview folder.

s.hendriks ,

Could you please describe YOUR issue in some details? To customize the Posts control you should click on "Customize template style" button:

posts-customize.png

If you added some control inside one of the shared areas with orange border (header, Footer, Sidebars) this control will appear on all pages.

Thank you,
Olivia

Olivia, I have again this problem and all instances of Customize template are clicked on both templates. You have my theme in one of hidden topics.

Controls are added righe after content area, there is nothing between them.

Difference now it is Page template, not Post.

Edit: Actually controls are inside Content - Posts area, not outside. For instance I added Post image control as last in Content - Posts part, and it is automatically displayed on Homepage (one static WP page).

And suddenly Themler began to make most of the filenames like this "blog_1742.php", sidebars, comments templates, all other templates too. Is it normal ?

Why do they share controls ? It it beyond my understanding.

As I remember right all those problematic themes with problems like this are Artisteer converted theme. But cannot be 100% sure, some 70%-80% I can.

Clicking on any of those 6 options for "Sidebars" in Layout is making 3 templates marked.

  • Say I want to activate Undes CMS content - Show on template for one Page template.
  • Klicking on it activate also another Page template and Blog template.
  • So it is with all 6 options in "Sidebars"

Very difficult to know what is happening.

Hi Stagger,

Do these issues continue? We cannot reproduce them.
But still have similar problems with duplicated templates (I think you reported it), but everything should work ok between built-in and custom templates (creates as new, not copy of existing).
The task related to supplicate templates is still assigned to our developers and еун are working on it.

Thank you,
Olivia

I have the same problem - unable to separately customise the post layout between Home and Post templates. I have clicked customise template style, set default, set as default over and over with no success. Is there something I am missing?

It's doing my head in.

Hi,

If you still have issues with the customizing the template, please create a private ticket with the access to your site back end so we could review the settings.

Sincerely,
Hella
