Hello, I see these 2 options for placing a module in my Joomla admin module postitions but can't find them in Themler Desktop.

What are these and where are they located? When I assign a module to see where it would show up on my frontend of the website, nothing appears.

Hello Dave,
the steps to add Joomla Module Position are the same as in Themler online version:
1.Add Joomla Position Control and assign it Position Name;
2.open Joomla admin back end
3.add module to position created at step1.
Have you got any problem at any step?

As for Language and Currency, you just add controls to the theme in the same way as in online version. Please also describe the issues in more details.

regards,
Aileen

I have not used the online version before, only desktop.

My question is only about the currency and language positions? They are not in my Themler Desktop that I can see.

I don't understand where the position would show up and why I need these? I tried to put a custom html module in one to test and see where it would show up on my site but nothing happened.

How do I remove them if I don't want them in my theme?

Hello Dave,
the Language and Currency controls are working the same in the Desktop and Online versions. Please refer to the DOC articles which describe how they work in Joomla templates
http://answers.themler.com/articles/4765/language

Aileen

OK, I will not be using the language control and it says the currency control is not supported in Joomla. If the currency is not even usable in Joomla why is it showing up?

I just want them gone. How do I remove them?

Thanks

Hello Dave,
the Language control could be added and working to both Joomla and VirtueMart templates. The Currency control is working in ViertueMart templates only.
We do not disable controls which depend on CMS settings and the Currency is one of them. You may create Joomla template and then install VirtueMart to your Joomla. After that added Currency control will work.

Aileen

So they can't be removed? I will not use Virtuemart or the native language options.

If ther are added to theme you can simply remove them by right click >> remove... or be pressing DELL. They are usual controls line Text or Image.

I do not want them in the theme. When I assign the module in Joomla I do not want any extra positions I do not use.

I want to remove them from the theme itself, not the insert function in case I do need them someday. They are in the default them I believe and I do not see them anywhere to remove.

If I press layout it should show all my module positions but I do not see these.

Thanks

Hi,

Ok. You should not have issues with removing controls.
Could you please export theme as ZIP. I need to check it on my side.

Thank you,
Olivia

I cannot find them. Where are these? Are not all elements supposed to be shown in the Layout on the top when you turn that on?

Attached is a screenshot of the theme and the module position. That theme is attached.

Hello Dave,
you may remove the "language" and "currency" positions from the templateDetails.xml file of the theme and positions won't be displayed in the list. These positions are created in the theme even if no Language and/or Currency controls are added to the theme in Themler.
But the code blocks which are used to output these positions are left in several theme files.

regards,
Aileen

OK, I don't want to mess with any files outside the GUI. I'll just have to leave them I guess.

Maybe I just don't understand how they work. So you are saying there is not control of where these would show up in the theme since you can't even see them in the GUI? Just trying to understand the new program.

Thanks

Hi Dave,

I've assigned this issue to our developers.
In general, if the control is not present in the theme the position should not exist.
This looks like a bug.
We'll let you know when we receive any news from our developers.

Thank you,
Olivia
