Undecided whether to buy or not ...

I'm undecided whether or not to renew my old license of Artisteer (which I no longer use) for Themler, for the occasional need to make some Static Web Site or some theme for Joomla! or other CMS.

The problems are many but the main ones are:
- Extreme slowness of the Themler program
- Difficulty in obtaining certain graphic solutions

Regarding the slowness ... I thought it was a problem of the FREE version, but I see that many others who bought the license have the same problems. The support intervenes by saying that it is necessary to disable the antivirus, increase the RAM, that the disk is too slow etc ...

I work on a Quad-Core Processor, with 8 GB of RAM (but nothing has changed when I put 16 GB for testing), and with a 250 GB SSD 860 EVO disk, on Windows 10 (1803) Professional X64.

I have a very light antivirus (ESET NOD32) so it's not even the antivirus's fault ... All the other programs run fast ... the only slow one is Themler.

But Artisteer was also slow (I do not know if they share part of the code)

It also displeases me because the idea of combining the subscription with the possibility of downloading quality images could be a winning move compared to other solutions, but

Regarding the possibility of obtaining certain graphic solutions, the problem is that often Themler (used as FREE, therefore only editor of static websites) does a bit 'what he wants ... I move a piece and puts it back in the previous position.

In short, a few days ago I had to create a small website of 3 pages, after a day lost with themler, the next day in 2 hours I did it using joomla! and a free theme.

Hi,

Themler could be slow because of many reasons and it is impossible to say for sure why it is slow on your side without investigation. What operations are slow (save/export or editor operations like add/move/remove controls)?
Did you try disabling your antivirus? Did you check Windows Task manager and computer performance?

Themler is a quite advanced applications with many settings. I don't what exactly what you tried to make but if you managed to obtain the same result with free theme then is should be quite easy to obtain with Themler. If you have any questions related to how to create something in Themler please let us know.

Thank you,
Olivia

Premise:
In addition to taking care of the creation of websites, I am also a Computer Technician. In other words, I provide IT support to my clients. So I can evaluate if / when a Program is slow due to some problem or because it is "heavy".

The main problem in slowness (it is true I had not specified it taking for granted) is in the Editor.

In my computer I have other programs installed, some considered "heavy", but still run regularly.

I remember then that, as I wrote in POST, I have a PC with QuadCore CPU, 8 GB of RAM, SSD 250 GB. Clearly it is not very recent, but at the moment Themler is the only program that creates problems of slowness.

Regarding the Antivirus, ESET NOD32, is very light and as a computer technician I also install it to many of my clients (I follow almost 200 stations), I can never guarantee that under any circumstances I had to disable it because it slowed down programs ... and if case, ESET NOD32 slows Themler ... I do not think I would ever disable Antivirus to run a program.

I saw in the forum that I'm not the only one to report that Themler is slow ... and since Themler has a very high potential, compared to competing Visual Editor, mine was an invitation to solve the problem :-)

At the moment, unfortunately, I have to look for another solution for a project that I have to finish in a short time :-(

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. But according to our experience most of the issues with the desktop application are caused by the anti virus application as Themler creates the local server and always needs to connect to it from the application and so on. Also working with the Themler plug-in on the live site should be faster. So let us know if you need our further help with the application functionality.

Sincerely,
Hella
