I downloaded the Windows-based Themler after the CMS Themler gave me problems. Everything installed successfully, but when I clicked on the new desktop Themler icon, no software was opened. After looking through the source file, I found that there is no .exe application file to start Themler. Why would there be no executable file?

I'm getting no indication of errors at all. I click on the icon, and the little hourglass mouse icon appears for a few seconds, and then goes away. Plus, there is no executable file to execute, even after a successful download.

but you do have the icon on your desktop. To what file does it point?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Themler\Themler.vbs" ?

only points to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Themler"

I do have the Themler.vbs file but the icon doesn't point to it, and I don't know how to run it. I tried once and it seems Windows doesn't know what application to use to run it.

Ok so it looks like its default is to run via the Windows Script Host, but unlike you I don't get any error. I just don't get any response at all.

Seems like the Themler installation is very, very buggy. Staying with Artisteer for the first two months or so and hoping the team will fix it.

I would advise you to claim a refund asap.

Found the problem.

After reading through the VBS script, it became apparent that the application relied on use of Firefox or Chrome. I was not aware that the offline app would be dependent on these. Further, I did not realize that Chromium was an altogether different program from Chrome. I downloaded Chrome and the application executed just fine. (Well, it failed due to its inability to access MySQL, but I believe that's MY problem to fix, not theirs)

Hi,

Indeed, Themler desktop application also requires the Chrome browser to be installed. We have created the special installation package for the users that do not want to use Chrome. Please try this version:
http://downloads.themler.com/Themler.1.0.50.28323-no-chrome.exe

If you have any other errors with it, please create a separate private topic and provide the TeamViewer and Skype access (if possible) so we could contact you and see what the issue is.

Sincerely,
Hella
