Difference between container vs sheet in Joomla?

Hi Community,

I'm learning Themler urgently and I want to understand how it works best.

I found two elements that generate similar HTML code in the finished page (regular DIV). It's about Containter and Sheet.

I noticed that in the Sections from the Library no one uses Sheet only Conteiner.

So where to use Sheet instead of Conteiner?

Hello Christopher,

Sheet is the main layout control, it conatines all other elements of the main content area inside of it. It can contain all containers, sections, etc. Usually it is used same accross all pages.

Container is a separate content element, that can be added to the sheet (or outside of it) on particular page and customized as required. You may notice that containers can has size set by the user, there can be several containers next to each other. Unlike Container, Sheet can;t have set size, it always fills the width of the content area and its height depends on the content placed inside of it.
