I've tested this on several templates.
When you try and save a design after having entered an email address in to a text area - the save fails and the design is 'restored'
This happens every-time.

instead of @. It is a bug anyway.

Could you please once again, try to create a new template, apply updates, press the Save button, then insert the e-mail address and save again. If that does not help, please provide the step-by-step instruction on how you have inserted the e-mail and what exact e-mail.
