Theme not exporting properly

Hi there - I have spent over a week creating a theme under a subdomain for a client. I have now tried to export the theme and half of it is missing, and the menus have not exported with the theme? I exported a copy yesterday before doing a day's work on it and the size of the .zip file was bigger than it is today.

All of the pages that were included on the menu (I have loads of pages that are in the background) are missing and and the widgets did not copy over either.

Can you please provide an explanation and what I need to do to fix it. This is so much work and it has failed (not for the first time!).

Ok - this has got worse. I decided to upload the earlier exported version as it obviously has more on it than the latest export. It is now saying the link has expired? What is that all about? I downloaded the theme to my desktop - how can that be expired?

Hello,

A theme can be exported with and without content. Please try to check the option "Include Content" on export. Please note that Themler exports only posts and pages with images, and WP menus (ALL menus available under WP Appearance >> Menus). It does not include widgets.

Hi Nettie - the theme was exported with content included .... but hasn’t included any of the top level pages?? Yesterday the size of the downloaded theme was 11.6MB with none of the sub-pages that I spent hours adding following the original export. Now none of the top level pages are there, just the sub-pages and the exported zip file has reduced to 10.2MB?

Hello,

That is weird. All pages should be included. Looks like the downloaded theme is not complete. Could you please try to export a theme using a different browser or a different computer?
Another possible solution would be to export content separately from the Export tab as described in this article: https://answers.themler.io/articles/72522/import-export-content
