Hello, I constantly have this issue on my home template. I just want to use a single article menu item on the homepage. However I get the article 2x times on the page and cannot remove the one that is not where it's supposed to be.
What is the solution to this?

Try switching CMS Control off, save, then turn it back on. Sometimes it helps.
If it doesn't, let us know, we will move this topic to private and check your theme.

I was able to eventually find a way to remove it. Not 100% sure what I did. At some point there was a second CMS Content element on the left side bar I and I deleted it.

Hi, another site, same thing. Joomla homepage set to Single Article has doubled content. I wish I didn't have to try and figure this out for every new site I make that is using this menu type for the homepage.
