Have given up trying to create a linked image on the default/homepage

I have come to the conclusion it is not possible to create a linked image from a site's homepage. I have tried many different things to do this and none of them work. I originally thought it had to do with the page that Themler defines as, "home", but this has nothing to do with it when I set a, "post", page as the homepage, (setting this from the menu tab in joomla), the link does not work. I have tried to create a linked image as a Joomla article, I have tried to create a linked image inside of Themler, nothing works. I then thought it was a Joomla problem but when I load a Joomla template, (e.g. beez3 or protostar), the link works fine. Also, the link works fine on any and all pages not defined as the homepage.

When I hover over the image, using the Chrome Browser, the URL of the page I want to navigate to is clearly visible in the lower left corner of the window but the clicking of the mouse is ignored but if I use a text link the link works fine from the home/default page.

I have disabled the lightbox feature that is associated with the default/homepage using this CSS string, ".bd-lightbox { display: none !important; }", perhaps this has something to do with it, however, if I do leave the lightbox turned on all I get is the lightbox affect still no link.

Is this a bug with Themler or it is intended that no image on the default/homepage be allowed to act as a link?

I don't like giving up but I am at a loss.

Has anyone had success at doing what I am attempting to do?

UPDATE TO THE ABOVE
IT WAS USING CSS TO DISABLE THE LIGHTBOX FUNCTION THAT PREVENTED THE MOUSE CLICK FROM BEING RECOGNIZED. BY GOING INTO THE .JS FILE AND COMMENTING OUT THE LIGHTBOX FUNCTION THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED THE MOUSE CLICK DOES NOT CALL THE LIGHTBOX FUNCTION BUT IT DOES RECOGNIZE THE IMAGE/LINK

Hello,
You should be possible to disable the lightbox in Themler -> select the section with posts (in Outline) -> go to Posts menu -> Post Content -> toggle Image Lightbox.
