Hello Kris,

By "blog item" do you mean specific posts?

Try adding articles IDs to the blog layout examples under admin panel -> Extensions -> Templates -> select your template, go to Templates tab and list IDs of articles for "Preview Sample Articles"

I do not understand, but maybe my question is not clear. I use a one page template with a main menu. home•news•promo•contact.
The items news and promo are blog items, with several articles. Each time a new article is added to the news category, it must showed on the first place. For the promo blog item the same. Thnxs for the help.

There is no specific option to do this.
You can do as I have described above. This would mean that after new article is added, the user must go to template settings and update the ID there.
Of you can make the front page display all categories. Then set the limit of displayed post to 2.
In this case the content manager (who creates articles) will have to make sure that he/she posts News and Promo articles one by one in turns.

Maybe, there are free Joomla extensions that would allow making this easier.
