You need to open the page (or the template this page is using - Home, Post, Page) and disable the light-box for Post Content, see screenshots attached.

I'm having a similar issue with Joomla.
I add a pic to a page and add an HTML hyperlink to the image. Save everything and then go to live view.
When I click on the image on the page, the browser pulls up a close up of the picture file and does not activate the hyperlink.
If I right-click on the pic and choose to open link in new tab or browser window, the link works fine.
Using a text hyperlink on the page works fine, just with the linked pic it is not working.
Please help.

Disabling light-box effect should have helped. Could you please create new private support ticket with the access to the site so we could check the settings. Please, specify the page and the image there as well, thanks.
