I have created a Wordpress theme with a number of templates in addition to the default ones. However, when I install the theme and try to edit a page, I can only see the default and home page templates in the editor.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Peter

Hi,

Please refer to the following link:

You need to create the new template of the page or post type to see it in the list.

Sincerely,
Hella

I don't think you understood the problem. The custom templates are not listed in the page editor. You can't select the custom template because it's not in the drop down list.

I this this is the problem. Themler doesn't do this.
Check that each of your custom templates have the following block at the very top of the file:

<?php template name: = name_of_template_for_dropdown ?>

Hi,

Let us know how to reproduce the issue. You create the theme with number of custom templates, export it, install in WP site and then when opening the Themler editor, the custom templates are not there?

Sincerely,
Hella

I am also having the same pronle. The issue issue is that, after installating the created theme by themler, and creating Home and blog pages, and linking as statc pages within the Reading Section; when creating creating a Page, there is no way of my specifying that that page being created is a blog. The only uption is the Default Template and the Home Template

Okay I got it now.

Simple put >>>>> Create a custom template>>>> it could be a modified copy of the main page template>>> save under another name and then you will see it when creating a new page.
hope that helps

Hi,

You are right. The Blog template is applied to the blog pages only, you can not select it for any other page. This article may be helpful:

Hi!
I have the same problem as described in initial post.

I can not get Templates listed under Custom, but Template listed under Main, is available in WP CMS.

Why is that?

I have followed this http://answers.themler.com/articles/9466/how-to-create-and-use-custom-templates, and other answers, and based on them my expectation is to have every template available in WP CMS.

Regards, dfg

Hi,

You do not see the template you have added within the template list in Themler? In this case please create a private topic and provide access to your site back end so we could investigate the issue.

Sincerely,
Hella
