I see no way to add an article to the Joomla homepage / default page. Please help on how to achieve this. Most of my clients do front-end editing and without this feature, it's not possible.

I think you need to select a Single Article in the Admin Section.

With all the other issues in Themler theme for virtuemart, I only had time now to look into this again.

Even if I set the homepage link to article, it still displays the Themler home page. If I set one of the other pages to default in Joomla backend, it then takes that page as the homepage (Themler homepage) and the home page takes the correct article. As you know, there has to be a default page in joomle. If I use a menu item from an inactive menu, the homepage shows my actual homepage. But then off course no special fatures that I've created on my homepage (hovers' etc.)

Surely the simple solution should be the ability to add a post (Joomla calls it Articles) to the homepage in any space, so that the actual content is actually CMS content. According to other posts and my searches on Themler, it's not possible to add a post to the themler homepage.

Not good!

Hello Stephan,
I've just visited the http://mmponline.co.za/joomlanew1/ and I see that home page outputs the article
http://attachments.answers.billiondigital.com/395/4395/JoomlaHome.png

And under Joomla admin back end the Home link is assigned to Single Article
http://attachments.answers.billiondigital.com/394/4394/JoomlaAdminHome.png

When theme is opened in Themler the Home template also outputs the same article
http://attachments.answers.billiondigital.com/397/4397/ThemlerHome.png

So I do not see a problem there.

You may also set up the Home page to output the list of posts. To do it you need to configure Joomla Home menu link to be of Category Blog type. E.g.:
Themler

Aileen
What you see in the themler backend is not the content from the article in Joomla. It's text that was copied and pasted into the backend due to the fact that there is now way that I can find to link the article in the themler homepage.
Please explain how to do this, as I see no way to link an article on the homepage of themler. There is no way to add a post on this page.

Hello Stephan,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
I've re-checked the theme and I see the issue. The Content is disabled at Home template, thus the Joomla content is not displayed. To enable it open Sidebars tab and enable Sidebars

EnableSidebar.png

Then make sure that Content is enabled for the Home template and you'll see the Joomla content:

HomePageContent.png

Later you may also enable sidebars on selected template, add Joomla positions and put Joomla modules into these positions.
The following articles should be useful

regards,
Aileen

Thank you so much. This works perfectly! Pity there are no clear instructions on how to do this. I would never have guessed that this had to be done by first adding sidebars.
