I was wondering how you can change the Drupal version, ie. 6, 7, 8 before exporting a Drupal theme.

Hello,

Sorry but this is not possible. The exported theme contains several theme folders, and you should select then the needed ones to install, as described here: https://answers.themler.io/articles/3727/how-to-install-drupal-theme

Sincerely,
Nettie

From what I can tell, these exported them folders are for Drupal 6 and 7 which are fairly old versions of Drupal. I want to be able to export as Drupal 8 rather than download the Drupal 8 Beta files and module, upload theme to my site and try to edit the theme within the Drupal website. Is this possible or will it be in the future?

Hello,

If you need Drupal 8 only, this means the way for 6-7 doesn't fit. As written in our article, "Drupal 8 is a completely re-written version of the Drupal platform built on simphony. The current Drupal 6-7 theme are not compatible with Drupal 8 for 100%. Therefore we created completely new Themler themes for Drupal 8.
Unfortunately, the existing Themler themes for Drupal 6-7 cannot be converted to Drupal 8 themes."

Sincerely,
Nettie

So can you create/edit and save Drupal 8 themes on the desktop version of Themler or only online within your Drupal site? If only online, does Extensoft have a better application. It seems pretty limited. (I know there is Nicepage for Wordpress, etc.)

Hello,

No, unfortunately, there is no pre-installed solution for Drupal 8 in Themler desktop. Still you may try installing theme in Drupal on some localhost or hosted website.
You may try Artisteer, it also allows creating themes for Drupal: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=help_drupal
