Hello,

Unfortunately, there isn't any ready way to do this, because no matter if Products or Categories are displayed, in Joomla a single VM Category Layout menu item type is used for both. So this menu item type uses Products template in Themler.

Theoretically, you may try to hide the Columns containing those controls, with custom CSS, on specific pages, however this way can be complicated. In any way, we recommend to create a backup or to try on a copy of the theme.
Also please note that the code added directly to template files, can be overwritten when a theme is saved or updated. So probably changes for the final theme version make sense. Also a code added to Home >> Settings >> Additional CSS is kept while saving.

Another theoretical way is to add a second template of the Products type in Themler like Products 2 and find a way to attach it to a specific menu item that opens categories.

Sincerely,
Nettie
