Themler Update v. 559 - PHP 8 support for Wordpress and Joomla themes added

We are glad to introduce version 559 that includes:

• PHP 8 support for Wordpress themes
• PHP 8 support for Joomla 3 themes
• More fixes for Joomla 4 support

If your theme for Wordpress or for Joomla 3 cannot be opened to update Themler, please temporarily switch to PHP 7.x, open and update Themler, then switch to PHP 8. Alternatively, import the theme in Themler desktop, update and re-export it under a different name, then install the theme on your website.

This is a really sad story! No company has ever treated their paying customers like this. We should sue this company! I'm pissed!

It's been a year now since this announcement came.
One reason why many have extended their subscription.

Themler is still available for purchase.

The fact is: Since then nothing has been updated, no errors have been fixed, or the software has been further developed. There is no longer any support. Messages are not responded to and there are now more SPAM entries in the forum than valuable contributions.

I seriously wonder if this behavior could not even be described as intentional? And whether the behavior does not violate applicable law? A lawyer with experience in international law might be able to help.

I feel your pain Thorsten. The only thing I can suggest is:

1. Do NOT build any new websites in Themler. You will just have to convert and recreate them later.
2. If you can covert to WordPress easily, try that. Themler seems to word better on WordPress at the moment.
3. Find a new design plugin that's under active development, like Elementor, or Beaver Builder.

I really liked Themler, and I still would if they would only keep working on it. It has the unique ability to work with several different content management systems and I had some clients that wanted to use something other than WordPress.
Now I don't give then the choice. Just use WordPress, and you'll have all sorts of good choices for design plugins. There's a reason 43% of all the websites on the internet use WordPress.

Just out of curiosity. Why won't you use WordPress going forward? I understand not wanting to rebuild old sites, but I was never so impressed by Joomla that it overcame the positive network effect that WordPress has in comparison.

I still have problems with Joomla4 multilanguage. Is not working and I cannot switch my site from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 and it is a disaster!

That's just a matter of opinion.
Joomla is better than Wordpress in many areas and with that I end this unnecessary discussion. Thanks.

Somewhere in the forum there was help on how to fix some of this errors to edit the lines in shortcodes.php - I had done that before but I can't find it anymore
Nevertheless, please bring a fix so that this is generally resolved.
