I’ve seen this happen before with 3D Secure flows, especially when PayPro Global is involved. A few clients I’ve worked with (via HireHabibi.com) ran into almost the exact same issue — the transaction fails before the bank ever receives the 3DS authentication request, so from the bank’s side it looks like nothing happened.
In those cases, it usually wasn’t the bank. The problem was either:
the payment gateway not triggering 3DS correctly for certain regions/cards, or
a mismatch between card issuer requirements and how the gateway initiates the request.
You’re absolutely right that the bank can’t approve something that never reaches them. Asking for an alternative payment method (manual invoice, direct bank transfer, PayPal, or another processor) is a reasonable request, especially as a long-term customer.
Hopefully support can escalate this directly with PayPro Global rather than bouncing it back to the banks again, because this kind of issue typically needs gateway-side investigation.
