Virtuemart Default (Home) page product slider

Try disabling the Product Slider in the Administration - Modules section.

I disabled it but nothing happened. Look here http://joomla.23.i1666.cms2-live.billiondigital.com/index.php/shop/vm-front-page

unfortunately I cannot see the theme preview.

In general the Product Slider could be configured in two ways:
Product Slider located in Joomla position
1.add new Joomla module position in Themler theme;
2.add new module of the product slider type in Joomla admin back end;
3.open the theme options in Joomla on the Products Slider tab select the module with slider;
4.specify number of columns on different screen sizes

Product Slider on VirtueMart default page
1.eve if there're several product sliders are enabled under VirtueMart homepage (e.g. Featured products, Top 10, etc.) they all will use the same settings;
2.open the theme options in Joomla on the Products Slider tab select 'Virtuemart homepage'
3.specify number of columns on different screen sizes

Ok. I understand adn know that but i cant change number of row in slider of default page. It just shows me a row. I want to display featered products in more than one raw. Thank you.

Themler theme allows to specify number of columns, not rows. You may do it under theme options

as I mentioned before there's no need to specify number of rows for product slider. You may set up number of columns.

The product slider which are displayed on the VM front page may be enabled/disabled under VirtueMart >> Configuration >> Templates:

Ok.. i made theis changes before several times. Bu it doesnt work for me. Here is thems my settings.

let me provide some additional explanation regarding the Product Sliders output.

Here are sample settings
VirtueMart
Number of Rows for Featured Product Slider = 2
Number of Products in a row = 2

Themler theme settings

Taking into account that number of columns is not specified under Theme options, Featured Product slider should output 2 rows, each row includes 2 products.

This is how it works.

If under Theme options number of columns is specified

Then combination of theme options and VM settings are used.
VM settings in this example

It means that there're 2 rows in slider. Each row outputs 5 products which are displayed in 3 columns. How it looks on live page

I hope it makes the combination of settings a bit clear.

Is there any way to dont use default page as slider like any normal joomla template? Because when i switch to joomla default "protostar" template the problem is solves without do anything. Thank you.

Yesterday Accidentally I posted my questions to magneto thread.

I'm also confused by Virtuemart product slider. On front page I'd like to display featured products in 1 row and four columns(products). Once I could achieve this layout. After I copied the module because I wanted to display recently viewed products in the left column of the products page. Since then only 2 products are displayed on front page. I deleted the copied module but I can't figure out how to restore 4 products in a row on front. Current front page view:

I have another problem with the Virtumart template that you can see on the front page screen capture as well. I added fix on scroll effect to horizontal menu. I added it to row and menu as well. It works fine if I scroll page from top to bottom. But if I reload the page at the middle of the page then the navigation area should be seen at top but it is lower as seen on screen capture.

Other menu related problem. I wanted to set transparency to horizontal menu when page scrolled down (menu fixed at top). I can see the transparency option in the settings of fix on scroll effect but it simple doesn't work. I also tried it when I edited WordPress theme but it didn't work either.

I use the latest version of Themler desktop.

Please help.

1.to output the Featured Products slider on VM FrontPage in 1 row with 4 columns please use the following settings:
1).Themler theme options

2).open VirtueMart >> Configuration >> Templates >> VirtueMart Home Page Settings section

You should see the result

2.here are sample settings for the Latest Products slider output in the "left" Position (left column)
1). under theme options set 2 columns for Desktop

2).under Joomla admin back end >> module settings specify number of products to be output in one row

As a result the 4 products in 2 columns are displayed:

As for the rest issues please submit a new separate private topic and provide access to your Joomla admin back end so we could check them.

I have to Agree with "ideosiete" and others. After pulling out my hair, trying what I "thought" were all the logical settings, I followed your instructions.
I have 10 products selected for the featured slider and a couple of things are wrong.
First, after following your instructions I end up with the 4 products in a row (which is correct), but 3 rows. I specifically want and set the row to 1, just as you suggested and what I thought was correct before reading your instructions.
After following your instructions I have 10 products in 3 rows.
The products are not being broken down into rows by either Themler or Virtuemart. All the products checked for features are displayed in 2 rows of 8 and 1 row of 2.
Second, the slider is not working either. I followed your instructions for that too.
I'm willing to say that it's my fault. But I can't find where I went wrong when I followed your instructions to the letter.
What I "really" want is 4 products in a row, and the slider only moves when the left or right arrow (slider indicators) clicked. But I haven't been able to figure out how to do that yet.
If you were able to get "ideosiete" straightened out, perhaps you can help me too.

I totally get where you're coming from—those sliders in the VirtueMart default product page can be more trouble than they’re worth. I had the same issue and ended up disabling the slider modules entirely through the module manager. Then I customized the layout using category listing settings instead. Much smoother now! I completely understand your concern — the slider layout in VirtueMart’s default product page can be quite restrictive and buggy at times. Disabling the slider and switching to a simple grid or list layout would definitely make customization easier. It would be great if VirtueMart allowed us to toggle between slider and standard view directly from the backend without extra coding. Hope the developers consider adding that option in future updates!
