Joomla 5 stability / Themler support

How stable is the Joomla 5 version?

ie. are there known bugs or issues I should be aware of?

I am a little reluctant to purchase an upgrade this time around, as I have been waiting a year for some issues to be resolved for the then new Joomla 4. Themler has seen 2 years without a single update or feature advancement, so need to know how robust the new update is and if there will be any support. My previous tickets have been either unanswered or partially answered ie. an initial response provided and then ignored with no resolution.

Best wishes

Arhon

Hey Arhon,

I totally get where you're coming from. Joomla 5 is supposed to bring better performance and security, but like any major update, there are bound to be some teething issues. From what I’ve seen in the forums, some users have reported compatibility problems with older extensions and templates, and a few bugs are still being ironed out.

If Themler hasn’t been updated in two years, I’d be cautious about jumping in—there’s a good chance it won’t play nicely with Joomla 5. Plus, if your past support tickets have gone unanswered, that doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. Maybe holding off for a few more updates would be the safer bet?

Hope you get some clarity on this!

While Joomla 5 is likely stable for core functionality, the lack of recent updates from Themler introduces a significant risk of incompatibility. Proceed cautiously, sprunki and consider alternative template solutions if Themler’s support remains unresponsive. Would you like assistance identifying alternative theme providers or extensions compatible with Joomla 5?

You should weigh the pros and cons of upgrading to Joomla 5 thoroughly, including your website's unique needs and any worries you may have regarding stability and support.

Joomla 5 is relatively new, so it may have some bugs. Check Joomla’s official documentation and forums for known issues. If past support has been lacking, evaluate the upgrade's stability and support options carefully. DG Paystub

The decision to upgrade to Joomla 5 should be based on a careful evaluation of the risks and benefits, taking into account your specific website requirements and concerns about stability and support.

Hello,
The new update introduced some bugs. I wouldn't recommend an update.

Support contacted us briefly at the end of last year and has since disappeared again, ignoring everything here.

They want to force us to use Nicepage, but I won't do that under any circumstances, because Nicepage is not suitable for use in a CMS and has other weak points if you want to build dynamic websites.

Nicepage is a nice toy for dummies who want to build their own website for the first time.

With this in mind, best regards

Hi Thorsten,

thank you for your reply. This is very helpful.

It is such a shame, as this was an amazing product, and superior to Nicepage. I sense Themler has been sold on or 'managed' by one or two individuals, who just have the ability to to keep the product ticking over. If I am lucky, I get a vairly generic response to any queries I have, and then get ignored.

If this continues, I will have no choice but to move over to another system altogether. A big shame in my opinion.

Best wishes

Arhon
