Hello Guillermo,
Themler does not allow to specify custom page for 404 error. But it allows to create special template (404 template) and use it to output the error. Under theme options you may select what template to use for 404 page:

The following articles would be also helpful

Hi,

You can try to delete the error404.php file from the template_name/templates folder of your theme. Note, that you will need to delete it every time you update the theme.
Regarding the sharing of the controls. You can insert the control in the Header, Footer or Sidebar controls that are shared through all the templates. Or copy the control and past it as shared in the another template.

Sincerely,
Hella

Hi,

There is no possibility to add the header control on the 400 template. You can add the other possible controls like images and text. see the one available in the Insert section.

Thanks for your feedback. For now we do not have plans to increase the amount of the controls available for the 404 page as usually they do not have much information and only display the error message.
You can try to experiment with the number of the available controls.

This is a substantial problem for me too. The header and menu need to appear on the 404 page along with some custom text explaining what the error means, so that users can choose another page rather than leave the site. I have always used a custom error page component on my Joomla sites to achieve this, but the Themler template seems to prevent it from working. That seems like a backward step to me when compared with Artisteer, and it's going to be difficult to justify to my clients.

Hi,

Now the 404 page also includes header and sidebars so you can add the desired content.

Hi,

Joomla! admin can create custom 404 pages, according to the documentation.
https://docs.joomla.org/Creating_a_Custom_404_Error_Page
Themler page 404 work differently. There is no menu, there is no sidebars and footer.

Why it is important to page 404?
1. If the link is broken, the user gets 404 page. Users can not navigate without the menu home page.
2. Administrator page can redirect to 404 pages, when trying to unauthorized websites to crack.
Therefore it is important for safety joomla.

It would be very good to solve that 404 page can be edited like other templates, and custom 404 text Joomla.

Thanks

kisshonlapkeszites,

I've added your request to our wish list.

Joomla! admin can create custom 404 pages, according to the documentation.

This solution works ok. You just need to put the suggested code into the error.php file, not into the index.php.
To create custom template for 404 page please create alternative Page template and apply it to the custom 404 page menu item in a usual way:

Thank you,
