Categories on mobile device

Hello,

Please try to configure the number of products in slide for the Phone view using Slider settings in Joomla backend:
1. Please go to Joomla administration >> Extensions >> Template Manager >> Styles >> [select your template] >> Product Slider.
2. In the Modules field choose the Slider.
3. Select "Phone" and set the number of products like this:

I have no such position, as the categories are part of the Virtuemart front page, not part of a module. As far as I know, categories can only be added to a module position as a menu, not as product slider.

I want that frontpage interface that shows as 4 to show on mobile device as less (2) in a row.

the number of categories comes from VirtueMart options >> Configuration >> Templates >> Shopfront settings section >> Default number of categories in a row:

Unfortunately there's no way to use different number of categories in a row for different screen sizes.

as workaround you may hide the categories in Phone mode with the help of media query. E.g.

@media screen and (max-width: 400px){
.separated-item-3, .bd-container-106{
display:none;
}
}

Add it to Settings >>Additional CSS

The next Themler update should include settings for Product Categories layout in responsive mode.

Just checking that this is now available.
I have a theme with three categories per row in Virtue mart, and not a google look on the mobile. Should be one category per tow. Can't see where I can make this change. Hiding them is not an option.

Looks like the slider settings won’t affect the VirtueMart category layout on mobile. You’ll need to tweak it with some CSS instead. Try using media queries to set the product width, like 50% for two per row or 100% for one per row—this usually does the trick.
