Aileen,
The method you described, and as outlined in the referenced pages, does NOT work.
In brief, what the references describe is exactly what Themler uses for videos if I'm designing the "page" within Themler. If I'm designing a "page" within Themler, the code appears in the (Joomla) Articles > "page_name".
If I do anything to edit the code directly in the article (page), it has no effect.
The option that "may" work is to add the code to a Joomla position. But, in the Themler template I've designed for that page (where I want the video), it's not possible to "Insert" a Joomla position into "Article:"
Each time I attempt to insert a Joomla position into the "Column" where I currently have and need the video, Themler automatically moves the Joomla position into the CMS area.
If I try to move the position it will not allow me to reset the position to the "Article:" area.
So I'm right back to the beginning where I'm asking, HOW can I insert a video that will loop?
All of this is really odd since the "only" thing that Themler won't do with a video is allow it to loop - unless one uploads the video to YouTube or Vimeo - which I'm NOT going to do. The video "must" reside on the server where the Web site exists. I need to embed the video, but as you can see from all of the above, that's not possible.
When will Themler have coding added that will allow the video to loop?
That's all that's missing in the method that Themler already has to add a video where desired.
Because the design is very complicated, it's not possible to use Joomla as it's designed because the "Article" pages need to have extensive code to allow for a fluid design.
I'm left with creating a template for the one page and not using the Joomla "Article" for anything other than a placeholder.
If you need to see the work in progress you'll need to move this portion of this thread into "Private" and I can send you the link.
The bottom line is, simply add code in Themler to loop a video that's NOT on YouTube (or anywhere outside the Web site database.
Thanks.
Tom
